Our Client required a solution for temporary pedestrian access from a carpark to an existing worksite. This being a busy and highly populated area time was critical.
The superbridge option provided the ideal solution and was installed in one night’s possession. The flexible modular nature of this structure also allowed the length of the bridge to be altered in less than a day with no time penalty.
The bridge arrived on site in 5 sections, 4nr tower sections weighing around 700kg each and the main span 23m x 2m x 2m weighing in at around 8000kg were off-loaded by a mobile crane and set down in the agreed designated area. Using a combination of Hiab and a Mobile Crane, Tower 1 and Tower 2 each fitted with levelling jacks were safely landed onto prepared concrete footings, the bridge section was slung into place, towers and stairs built up from there.
The structure was full height with mesh sides and with expanded mesh deck. All fixings were inserted and secured from within the stair towers.
The site was cleared and de-mobilised in the agreed time and with no issues.
